We are building and lifting up the Athens community to make others feel good and make a difference
— Strong Girls Serve '16

Strong Girls Serve is a community service club for middle school girls that meets monthly to serve an area nonprofit.  The girls do a variety of leadership activities, direct service, and fundraising to be the change in our community.

Here is a small sampling of what we did this year...

Mural, Athens Food Bank

Mural at the Athens Emergency Area Food Bank painted by MegaBBott.  Led by our Strong Girls Serves.

Pop up Free Food Pantry

Our food pantry built by our friends at Sons of Sawdust with reclaimed wood from a church. Matt Hobbs and his crew were so wonderful to work with and are great community partners. Just like little free libraries, anyone can take or leave food any time of day.

Raised over $600 for Athens Emergency Food Bank

We were excited to present a check to Kim Ramos of the Athens Area Emergency Food Bank this evening. The money we raised will allow them to buy 4285 cans. This donation does not include the hours of service, cans and other items we have provided as well as our The Little Free Pantry and our mural. We have had an awesome year serving the food bank.
