Our middle school community-wide service club meets monthly to serve a nonprofit in the Athens area. The girls do a variety of leadership activities, direct service, and fundraising to be the change in our community. This coming school year, we will partner with Children First. Our first nonprofit partner was the Athens Area Emergency Food Bank. We were able raise enough money to allow them to buy 4,285 cans! In addition to this monetary donation, we provided hours of service, cans, and other items. We also donated The Little Free Pantry and painted the mural that graces the lobby of the food bank. This past year, we had an awesome time serving Project Safe. We raised $1,250, made teddy bears for shelter children, worked in their thrift store, and learned about healthy relationships.
